Therefore Antioxidants fight the free radicals in the body and minimize the damage to the DNA in the cell. Today, many people in the world use green tea as a hot drink and herbal drink.
Drinking Tea During Pregnancy
Doctors recommend drinking plenty of water and other beneficial drinks during pregnancy, because water helps the placenta and amniotic fluid to be properly prepared during pregnancy. During pregnancy, you should refrain from consuming too much caffeine, such as coffee or tea, because caffeine causes dehydration and reduces the positive effects of drinking water. Caffeine in green tea is considered a stimulant. Caffeine can then cross the placenta during pregnancy and enter the baby’s bloodstream. Therefore, doctors have paid attention to how it affects the developing fetus.
Many studies in the world say that drinking a small amount of caffeinated beverages during pregnancy does not harm the baby. Therefore there’s no harm in enjoying a cup or two of green tea per day because it contains only a little less caffeine than regular tea. However, it is not advisable to drink too much green tea during pregnancy.
